The final, defiant chapter of Ozzy Osbourne‘s life is now available for the world to see in the new documentary, Ozzy: No Escape From Now, which began streaming this week. The film, which was in production during the final four years of the rock icon’s life, chronicles his harrowing health battles and the creative resurgence that, in his own words, “saved me.”

The feature-length documentary, directed by Tania Alexander, premiered on Tuesday, October 7, and is now streaming exclusively on Paramount+. Originally conceived to document his late-life creative burst, the project evolved into a powerful and poignant look at his final years following his passing on July 22.

In a statement made when the film was first announced, Ozzy himself described the immense challenges he faced.

“The last six years have been full of some of the worst times I’ve been through. There’s been times when I thought my number was up,” he said. “But making music and making two albums saved me. I’d have gone nuts without music.”

His wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, who also produced the film, explained that the goal was to present an unvarnished look at the reality of his life.

“This film is an honest account of what has happened to Ozzy during the last few years,” she stated. “It shows how hard things have been for him and the courage he has shown while dealing with a number of serious health issues, including Parkinson’s… We hope that story will inspire people that are facing similar issues to Ozzy.”

The film documents Osbourne‘s relentless drive through a series of devastating health setbacks—including Parkinson’s disease, sepsis, and a broken neck—to achieve several final triumphs. These include the recording of his final two acclaimed solo albums, Ordinary Man and Patient Number 9, his 2024 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and his final, triumphant performance with Black Sabbath on July 5, just 17 days before his death.

The documentary features new, heartfelt interviews with an all-star cast of Ozzy‘s friends, family, and collaborators, including his Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi, Slash and Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo of Metallica, Maynard James Keenan of Tool, Zakk Wylde, and producer Andrew Watt.
