Heaven & Hell New ‘Breaking Out Of Heaven 2007–2009’ Box Sets Arriving In March

Rhino Records has announced a comprehensive new anthology celebrating the final musical chapter of Ronnie James Dio‘s legendary collaboration with the architects of heavy metal. Titled Breaking Out Of Heaven 2007-2009, the collection documents the late 2000s reunion where Dio, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Vinny Appice reconvened under the moniker Heaven & Hell.

Set for release on March 27, the collection will be available in two distinct physical formats: a sprawling 7-LP vinyl box set and a 4-CD/Blu-ray edition. Both versions are packaged with a replica tour book, a poster, and an illustrated book featuring newly commissioned liner notes by Hugh Gilmour.

This release marks a significant milestone for collectors, as it features the vinyl debut of the complete Live From Radio City Music Hall performance. In total, eight tracks included in the set are appearing on vinyl for the first time, including the three studio recordings originally found on The Dio Years compilation.

The box set covers the band’s entire second act, from the triumphant 2007 concert at New York’s Radio City Music Hall to their 2009 Top 10 studio album, The Devil You Know. It also captures the group’s final tour via the Neon Nights: 30 Years Of Heaven & Hell – Live at Wacken recording from Germany.

The Blu-ray component included in the CD set offers visual documentation of both live concerts, along with extensive bonus features, including band interviews and tributes to Dio.

To coincide with the announcement, an HD-upscaled music video for the single “Bible Black” has been released online yesterday.
