The Summer Slaughter tour, known for showcasing rising talent in the heavy music scene, is returning for 2025 under new leadership and with hardcore icons Hatebreed headlining. Vocalist Jamey Jasta has taken the reins of the beloved tour brand, aiming to continue its legacy while expanding its scope.
Hatebreed, who spent 2024 celebrating their 30th anniversary, will lead the charge on the US tour running from July 8th in St. Petersburg, Florida, through July 28th in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This marks the Grammy-nominated Connecticut band’s first dedicated US summer tour in years.
Jamey Jasta expressed his enthusiasm for reviving the tour in partnership with original founder Ash Avildsen of Sumerian Records and Sound Talent Group.
“A new era of Summer Slaughter has begun,” said Jasta. “Huge thanks to Ash and the Sumerian team for their belief and support. Myself and Sound Talent Group are excited to be working with them going forward and taking the tour worldwide. It’s been years since Hatebreed has done a Summer tour in the U.S. and Summer Slaughter is the perfect return for us. The tour has always catapulted the newest and brightest talent to new heights and we’ll be continuing in that tradition while expanding in size and scope. Let the slaughter begin AGAIN!”
Tour founder Ash Avildsen shared his excitement about Hatebreed finally headlining the festival he started years ago.
“I’ve always wanted Hatebreed to headline Summer Slaughter since the inception of the tour many years ago,” added Avildsen. “Jasta and the band have always curated and built community across different sub-genres in the world of heavy underground music like very few others have been able to. I am thrilled it’s finally happening on Slaughter with Hatebreed at the top. Now is the time!”
Continuing its tradition as a breeding ground for new talent, the 2025 lineup features a mix of heavy hitters and up-and-comers, with support acts varying across different legs of the tour. Bands joining Hatebreed include Bleeding Through, Fugitive, Gridiron, Malevolence, Incite, Escuela Grind, and Snuffed on Sight.
Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday, May 2nd, at 10 a.m. local time.

Known for their relentless touring and pit-stirring anthems, Hatebreed remains one of the most enduring and impactful bands in modern hardcore and metal, making them a fitting headliner to usher in this new era of Summer Slaughter.
Hatebreed’s latest album, Weight of the False Self (2020), was hailed by Brooklyn Vegan as a “return to their hardcore roots.” Consequence described it as “one of their most aggressive to date,” Revolver called it “pummeling,” and Psychology Today praised it as “a blazing combination of extreme metal and hardcore punk.”
