Halestorm Gives Details On New Album ‘Everest’ And 2025 North American/European Tour

Grammy-winning rock band Halestorm has officially announced their sixth studio album, titled Everest, set for release on August 8, 2025, via Atlantic Records. Alongside the album announcement, the band revealed plans for the “nEVEREST” tour, a major U.S. run this fall featuring support from Lindsey Stirling and Apocalyptica.

Fans got their first taste of the new material last week with the release of “Darkness Always Wins”. The track offers a glimpse into the new album produced by acclaimed producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, Greta Van Fleet). According to the band, Everest delves into their journey over the past two decades.

Lzzy Hale described the upcoming album: “Our album Everest is a story of our journey as a band, full of beautiful endings and new beginnings. We weave a tangled web of melancholy, frustration, anger and the vast purgatory of love and love lost. It is a rollercoaster of epic musical detours, great songwriting and completely unhinged twists and turns. Everest is an auditory representation of the four pillars of Halestorm. Let us reintroduce ourselves and invite you into our world…if you dare.”

The lead single, “Darkness Always Wins”, has already garnered positive attention, with Rolling Stone praising its “catchy, brooding, and dramatic” qualities and Revolver highlighting its “exquisite minor-key melodicism.”

The album was recorded unconventionally with Cobb in Savannah, Georgia. Lzzy Hale explained the spontaneous process in an interview with Cutter’s Rockcast: “First day, we walked in… And Dave Cobb says, ‘Oh, we’re not gonna do any of that [previously written material].’ And I’m, like, ‘What do you mean?’ He’s, like, ‘We’re not doing demos. I hate demos. What we’re gonna do is we’re gonna start and we’re gonna write, and as we’re writing, we’re recording at the same time.’ So that’s what we did.”

Hale emphasized the creative freedom this approach provided, resulting in what she feels is their most authentic work yet. “It is the most Halestorm record we’ve ever done,” she stated. “There’s nothing on this album that anybody forced us to do. There’s nothing on this album that isn’t part of our personalities… I don’t even really care if anybody likes it because all four of us are, like, ‘This is our favorite album we’ve ever done.'”
