Gwar are preparing to unleash a fresh wave of carnage across North America this fall. The band has officially announced the “Gor Gor Must Die! Tour,” promising to bring their signature blood-soaked theatrical spectacle to venues across the continent.
Joining Gwar on the road will be black ‘n’ roll heavyweights Midnight as direct support. Fast-food parody metal outfit Mac Sabbath is slated to open every night of the trek. Additionally, select dates will feature special appearances by X-Cops and Atomic Rule to round out the stacked touring package.
The run kicks off on October 27 in Charlottesville, Virginia, and will hit major cities across the U.S. and Canada before wrapping up on December 12 in Norfolk, Virginia. The routing also includes a highly anticipated performance aboard the Headbangers Boat cruise. Fans can expect a massive production filled with heavy metal, horror, comedy, and a chaotic onstage confrontation with their unruly dinosaur mascot, Gor Gor.
Gwar frontman Blöthar The Berserker issued a statement detailing the narrative behind the upcoming shows:
“As both father and mother to our precious dinosaur Gor Gor, my hearts break to see what he has become: a c***k-addicted truck-stop lizard-of-the-evening. We didn’t raise him to hustle his cloaca up and down the street. It is time for some tough love! Come watch as Gwar lays a whoopin’ on his giant red ass on the ‘Gor Gor Must Die Tour‘ with Midnight, Max Sabbath, X-Cops and Atomic Rule.”
General admission tickets and VIP packages go on sale this Friday, May 01, at 10:00 a.m. local time via the band’s official website.
