Guns N’ Roses delivered a massive surprise for fans attending the Monsters Of Rock festival on Saturday, April 4. Headlining the massive event at Allianz Parque in São Paulo, Brazil, which also featured performances from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Extreme, Halestorm, and Yngwie Malmsteen, the legendary band dusted off a deep cut that had not been played live in over three decades.
Near the end of their sprawling 24-song set, the group shocked the audience by performing “Bad Apples” for the first time since 1991. The track originally appeared on the band’s multi-platinum 1991 studio album, Use Your Illusion I. Prior to Saturday night, the song had only been performed live twice in the band’s entire history, with the last documented performances taking place in May 1991 in Los Angeles and at the Rock in Rio festival.
The historic performance was part of a hit-packed setlist that also included fan-favorite staples and classic covers of Wings and Bob Dylan.
The band is currently navigating their Latin American tour down one member. Keyboardist Melissa Reese is currently sitting out the run due to undisclosed personal reasons.
