Guns N’ Roses recently pulled a rarely heard gem from their vast catalog during their performance in Warsaw, Poland, on July 12, treating fans to “So Fine,” a deep cut from their Use Your Illusion II album. This marked only the second time the song has been played live by the band since 1993, making it a truly special moment for those in attendance.
While “So Fine” might seem like an obscure choice to highlight, its recent inclusion is notable given its infrequent appearances over the past few decades. The previous time it was performed was during Guns N’ Roses’ Mexico City show in February 2020 – their sole full-scale performance that year before global lockdowns.
Uniquely, “So Fine” is a track where Axl Rose typically shares vocal duties with bassist Duff McKagan. However, in both the 2020 Mexico City performance and the recent Warsaw show, McKagan took on all lead vocals. This often happens once per concert, with McKagan usually stepping up to sing a punk cover. This time, the spotlight was on his own song.
The band’s Warsaw performance showcased a mix of their greatest hits, fan favorites, and unexpected surprises:
- Welcome to the Jungle
- Mr. Brownstone
- Bad Obsession
- Chinese Democracy
- Live and Let Die (Wings cover)
- It’s So Easy
