Metalcore outfit Balmora has announced that guitarist Jay Torblaa is stepping down from the group effective immediately. The decision comes in the wake of disturbing allegations concerning online grooming and inappropriate behavior involving a minor.

The remaining four members of the band, Danny, Paul, Colin, and Chaz, released an official statement on June 1, 2026, addressing the situation directly after evidence and screenshots began circulating online over the weekend.

The band wrote (via theprp): “In the past few days we’ve seen the evidence and screen shots of the behavior of our guitarist engaging with someone underage. We the other four members DannyPaulColin and Chaz don’t f**k with this at all obviously. Jay will be stepping away from the band and our summer tour will continue on as planned.”

“We’re sorry for what seems like the lack of transparency. Just trying to figure out how to navigate this and continue with all the shows we have booked and planned to play. All of our love goes out to the promoters, our tour mates and everyone who f**ks with us on some real s**t.”

The allegations against Torblaa gained significant traction around Friday, May 29, 2026, intersecting directly with the official release day of Balmora‘s brand new studio album, These Graven Halls.

Despite the sudden lineup disruption, Balmora confirmed that their extensive summer and fall routing will proceed exactly as scheduled. The tour kicks off this week in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and spans several months across North America, including high-profile supporting slots for Hatebreed, Devourment, and Incantation.
