Ghost have quietly expanded their mythology with a short new lore video — and this time, the message was delivered without the usual layers of mystery. The newly released chapter confirms that the band’s long-sought cover of “It’s A Sin” will finally be released on all major streaming platforms on January 16.
Originally included as a bonus track on Prequelle in 2018, the Pet Shop Boys cover has remained unavailable on standard digital services for years. Its upcoming release marks the first time the track will be broadly accessible to fans outside of physical editions and regional exclusives.
In the video, Frater Imperator addresses followers directly to clarify what this release does — and does not — represent. While the arrival of “It’s A Sin” has been confirmed, he also shuts down speculation about a broader covers project, making it clear that no new covers EP is currently planned.
That clarification stands out given Ghost’s history of releasing standalone covers collections, including If You Have Ghost (2013), Popestar (2016), and Phantomime (2023). For now, the newly liberated bonus track exists on its own, finally stepping out of obscurity without being tied to a larger release.
As anticipation builds, Ghost are also preparing to hit the road with their extensive “Skeletour” 2026 run, which will take the band across North America early next year. The tour kicks off in Florida and concludes with a series of West Coast arena shows.

The tour follows a landmark commercial moment for Ghost. Their latest studio album, Skeletá, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making it the first rock album to top the chart since Power Up by AC/DC in 2020. The album moved 86,000 units in its opening week, driven largely by physical formats — including 77,000 physical sales and an impressive 44,000 vinyl units.
Beyond its Billboard 200 success, Skeletá also claimed the top spot on the U.S. Album, Vinyl Album, Indie Store Album, Independent Album, Rock Album, Rock and Alternative Album, and Hard Rock Album charts. Internationally, the release debuted at No. 1 in Sweden, Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, and Finland, while landing at No. 2 in the UK, the Netherlands, and Norway, No. 4 in France, and No. 6 in Ireland.
With a chart-topping album, a major arena tour, and a long-requested cover finally seeing the light of day, Ghost enter 2026 with momentum firmly on their side.
