Freddy Vs Jason Soundtrack 2025

The iconic, metal-heavy soundtrack to the 2003 horror crossover classic “Freddy vs. Jason” is finally receiving a vinyl release, offering fans a nostalgic trip back to the height of the nu-metal and metalcore era. The limited-edition release resurrects a beloved compilation that serves as a perfect time capsule of early 2000s heavy music, featuring a who’s-who of the period’s biggest and rising stars.

Announced by Real Gone Music, the soundtrack will be released on October 10 as a 2-LP set, pressed on “red smoke” vinyl and limited to just 1500 copies worldwide. For over two decades, the brutal and memorable compilation has been a fan-favorite, perfectly mirroring the on-screen clash of horror titans Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees.

The tracklist reads like a snapshot of what dominated rock radio and festival stages in 2003. It’s anchored by titans of the nu-metal and alternative metal scene, including a rare 1997 demo of Slipknot’sSnap,” Ill Niño’s massive hit “How Can I Live,” and contributions from Mushroomhead, Spineshank, and Stone Sour.

The compilation also captured the explosion of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal, featuring seminal tracks from metalcore pioneers like Killswitch Engage (“When Darkness Falls“) and groove metal stalwarts Lamb of God (“11th Hour“) and Chimaira. Deeper cuts from established legends like Sepultura (featuring a guest spot from Mike Patton) and the gothic doom of Type O Negative round out a collection that is both diverse and perfectly representative of its time.

For many fans, the “Freddy vs. Jason” soundtrack was as memorable as the film itself. This long-overdue vinyl release offers a chance to own a physical piece of a unique moment in both horror and heavy metal history, a perfect snapshot of a sound that defined a generation.
