After a prolific 17-year career performing alongside major acts such as Slipknot, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Su*cidal Tendencies, and Against Me!, drummer Jay Weinberg is opening up his personal vault. The musician has announced a massive gear sale featuring an incredible collection of instruments, stage wardrobe, and exclusive memorabilia.
Starting Wednesday, March 18, fans will have the opportunity to purchase this storied gear directly from Jay Weinberg via Reverb.com. A portion of the proceeds from the online shop will be donated to the music charity MusiCares.
The extensive Reverb storefront will feature items spanning his multi-genre career. Some of the notable pieces included in the sale are:
- The exact drum kit used during Bruce Springsteen‘s 2009 Working On A Dream world tour
- Multiple fully customized SJC drum kits utilized throughout his decade-long tenure in Slipknot
- A vast assortment of snares, cymbals, and drum thrones
- Authentic stage-worn masks and performance outfits
- Signed studio-used drum heads and drum sticks
- Tour posters, gold record plaques, and self-designed collectibles
The gear sale follows a period of significant transition for the drummer. This past January, Jay Weinberg officially announced his departure from Su*cidal Tendencies after a nearly two-year run with the California crossover thrash legends. He originally played his first concert with the band in March 2024 in Osaka, Japan.
His addition to Su*cidal Tendencies occurred less than two months after he was revealed as the new drummer for Infectious Grooves, the long-running funk metal project formed over three decades ago by bassist Robert Trujillo and Su*cidal Tendencies frontman Mike Muir.
Throughout 2025, Jay Weinberg remained highly active with both Su*cidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves, while also balancing major personal milestones. Last November, he and his wife Chloe announced they were expecting their first child. Musically, he also debuted his solo track, “Sandstone“, which features guest vocals from Deafheaven frontman George Clarke. The drummer revealed that the single is part of an upcoming series of collaborations developed over several years with various guest singers.
Prior to his recent endeavors, his departure from Slipknot made global headlines. On November 5, 2023, Slipknot issued a social media statement announcing they had “decided to make a creative decision and to part ways with Jay.”
Six days later, Jay Weinberg—who originally joined the band in 2013 to replace founding drummer Joey Jordison—addressed his dismissal on Instagram. Expressing his shock, he stated that he “was heartbroken and blindsided to receive the phone call”, adding that it was “the news of which, most of you learned shortly after.”
His final performance with Slipknot took place on November 3, 2023, at the Hell & Heaven festival in Toluca, Mexico.
