Former Falling In Reverse guitarist and vocalist Max Georgiev has shared a follow-up statement addressing recent allegations surrounding his departure from the band. The response comes after Ronnie Radke publicly claimed on social media that Georgiev was dismissed due to an alleged past relationship with a minor.
Radke made those accusations in a recent online post, stating: “For those that are wondering why I fired @maxgeorgiev the guitarist, it’s because he admitted to sleeping with a minor 10 years before he was in my band when he was 27 years old. Have fun with that”
Georgiev fired back on Instagram, January 06th, writing a following statement:
“To the fans,
“I have never done anything illegal with a minor. Fifteen years ago, when I was 23, I still lived in Quebec, Canada.”
“Since then, I have played for several bands who never mentioned inappropriate behavior on my part.”
“I have always had great respect for the fans. I have strived to play my heart out for you.”
Following the controversy, Radke turned to livestreaming to respond after his Instagram account was reportedly banned. During the broadcast — portions of which have since circulated online — he suggested that his comments about Georgiev may have led to the sudden disabling of his Instagram account, which had more than 1.4 million followers.
He said: “Maybe me talking about my old guitar player getting fired for finding out he was hooking up with minors… I think that AI might’ve caught that and was like, ‘You gotta go’.”
In that same livestream, Radke disputed Georgiev’s account of his age at the time of the alleged incident. He further claimed that the allegations were first brought to his attention by one of Georgiev’s former girlfriends, adding that the information prompted him to remove the guitarist from the band just two days before they were scheduled to begin a tour.
Speaking about Georgiev, Radke stated in part: “This man not only did that, [but] the parents of the minor — 10 years before he was in my band — found out, they confronted him, he lied about his age so he could continue doing that with her. He wasn’t 23, he was older. He’s lying about that.”
In a newly shared statement made today, January 08th, Georgiev wrote:
“Anyone who believes that I was physically involved with a minor at age 27 while having no concrete evidence of it is delusional.”
“I met someone who turned eighteen a few months later while I occasionally dated her. This was fifteen years ago, when I was 23 in Quebec, Canada.”
“Her parents never confronted me because the girl only had a mother. I never lied to her or her daughter about anything.”
“However, perhaps this is the underlying reason why I was fired:”
“By April of 2024, it was time for me to leave FIR. I took the initiative to learn nine songs of another band. Swipe for the next video and the date. See playlists on my YouTube channel.”
Among the materials Georgiev submitted were video clips showing a handwritten book of musical notation tied to Disturbed, along with multiple recordings of himself playing guitar parts for the band’s songs. These files were shared via a Google Drive folder dated May 6, 2024. Earlier that year, Falling In Reverse had toured alongside Disturbed. Georgiev has stated that he was living in Quebec, Canada, at the time, where the legal age of consent is 16.
Separately, Georgiev has been focusing on his solo work, releasing his most recent track, “Believe In You,” online last month.
