Foo Fighters are set to kick off 2026 with a massive celebration of music and philanthropy. The band has announced a special benefit concert scheduled for Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The event, which coincides with frontman Dave Grohl‘s 57th birthday, will direct all proceeds to Hope The Mission and Los Angeles Mission—two organizations dedicated to aiding the city’s unhoused and food-insecure population.
In a statement, Grohl framed the event as a purposeful celebration rather than a standard gig.
“What better way to spend my 57th birthday than making a bunch of noise with a bunch of friends for a good cause,” Grohl said. “This ain’t just a big-a** rock show, it’s a big-a** party with a heart. Turn up the volume, turn up the hope, but most of all….TURN UP. The best gift is TO GIVE. Can’t friggin wait x.”
To combat scalping and maximize charitable impact, the band is eschewing traditional online presales. Instead, the only opportunity to secure advance tickets will be an in-person donation drive held at the Kia Forum this Sunday, December 7. Fans hoping to participate must bring specific essential items to the venue to gain access to the ticket line.
The requested donation items include:
- Socks and underwear (new/packaged only; all sizes/genders)
- Dried pinto beans (bagged)
- Pasta (spaghetti or macaroni; bagged or boxed)
- Dried rice (bagged)
Organizers have emphasized that canned goods and perishable items will not be accepted.
Rowan Vansleve, president of Hope The Mission, praised the band’s hands-on approach to the crisis.
“Dave, Jordyn [Grohl] and Foo Fighters are a striking example of what’s possible when we decide to show up and give back,” Vansleve stated. “This concert will be more than just a celebration, it’s a statement that it will take all of us working together to end homelessness in our city so that no one is left suffering on our streets. We’re incredibly grateful to partner with the band. Foo Fighters and their fans have a reputation of always stepping up to help when people need it, and this concert will be no different.”
Dennis Oleesky, CEO of Los Angeles Mission, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the tangible aid the concert will generate.
“The impact of this event goes far beyond one night of incredible music,” Oleesky added. “Every ticket purchased and every donation will directly help feed and house our unhoused neighbors. We’re honored Foo Fighters are joining to bring real help and real hope to people across Los Angeles.”
