Foo Fighters are officially back with fresh music. The rock legends have just released “Your Favorite Toy“, the lead single and title track from their highly anticipated 12th studio album.

Serving as their first new release of 2026, the track is a relentless, driving earworm. It mixes jagged guitar riffs and dark keyboard stabs over a steady, pulsing rhythm. Frontman Dave Grohl brings a sharp, sardonic edge to his vocal delivery, hooking listeners with the infectious chorus: “Get back. Hear that, boy? Someone threw away your favorite toy for good. For good.”

While the song is unmistakably Foo Fighters, it introduces a fresh sonic flavor to their massive catalog. According to Dave Grohl, cracking this specific track was the creative catalyst for the rest of the record:

‘Your Favorite Toy’ really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album. We stumbled upon it after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year, and the day it took shape I knew that we had to follow its lead. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording for this record. It feels new.”

Your Favorite Toy is scheduled to arrive on April 24 via Roswell Records/RCA Records. The album was recorded at home and co-produced by the band alongside Oliver Roman. Roman also handled the engineering duties, while Mark “Spike” Stent took charge of the final mix. In addition to the new title track, the record will feature last year’s fiery single, “Asking For A Friend“.

Your Favorite Toy Tracklist:

  1. “Caught In The Echo”
  2. “Of All People”
  3. “Window”
  4. “Your Favorite Toy”
  5. “If You Only Knew”
  6. “Spit Shine”
  7. “Unconditional”
  8. “Child Actor”
  9. “Amen, Caveman”
  10. “Asking For A Friend”

The release of the new album will pave the way for the band’s massive “Take Cover” world tour. Following headline appearances at US festivals like Welcome To Rockville and Bottlerock, the global trek will officially kick off on June 10 at the Unity Arena in Oslo.
