Korn bassist Reginald Arvizu — better known as Fieldy — has largely kept his distance from the band in recent years. However, a newly surfaced photo of him alongside Korn drummer Ray Luzier has reignited questions about where things stand between him and the nü-metal pioneers.
The picture, snapped at last month’s annual NAMM convention in Anaheim, California, captures Fieldy and Luzier standing together — a surprising development considering Fieldy revealed earlier that he had not spoken with his bandmates since 2019. While it’s unclear whether the moment hints at any meaningful reconciliation, it represents the first public sighting of Fieldy with a Korn member in several years.
Fieldy stepped away from Korn in 2021, explaining that he needed time to address what he described as “bad habits.” His original statement prompted concern among fans, though he later clarified that the issues were not related to dr*g use. In his absence, Ra Díaz of Suicidal Tendencies has handled bass duties during the band’s live performances and continues to do so.
Even with his extended hiatus, Fieldy has technically remained part of Korn’s official lineup, despite appearing disconnected from the group for years.
In an earlier chat on “The Dr. Greenthumb Show“, iconic bassist addressed the ever-present question of his return.
Fieldy told: “I won’t be playing any shows, but we’ll see what tomorrow brings. You never know. But for now, no. I’ve got plenty to do.” This carefully worded statement, while not a definitive farewell, certainly pours cold water on any near-term reunion fantasies.
Earlier in 2025, in a candid conversation with “Basement Talk,” Fieldy dropped a surprising revelation: he hadn’t actually spoken with his Korn brethren since 2019 – a full two years before his public announcement. “They’re truckin’. They’re a machine. They’re going,” he observed at the time. “It’s insane. It’s dope that they can keep on going like that. It’s cool to see them keep on going, but I need to chill.”
