Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu made a surprise live appearance on Friday, April 3, joining the alternative metal outfit Breaking in a Sequence at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California. During the set, the bassist hit the stage to perform two classic Korn tracks, “Clown” and “Got the Life“, alongside the band.
The collaborative Anaheim performance also included a heavy cover of the (hed) p.e. track “Ground“. Notably, Breaking in a Sequence shares ties with Korn, as the group was originally founded by former Korn drummer David Silveria following his stint with the band Core 10. David Silveria eventually stepped away from Breaking in a Sequence in 2022 to dedicate more time to his family.
Friday’s gig marked a rare stage appearance for Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, who has been absent from Korn‘s active lineup for nearly five years. His last official performance with the nu-metal pioneers was a special livestream event on April 24, 2021, broadcast from the “Stranger Things” drive-in experience in Los Angeles. Due to the pandemic, fans haven’t actually seen him perform with the group in person since March 1, 2020.
The bassist officially announced his indefinite hiatus from Korn in June 2021. Releasing a public statement at the time, he explained that he had been struggling with “some personal issues” that unfortunately caused him to fall back into “bad habits.” Since his departure, Suicidal Tendencies bassist Roberto “Ra” Díaz has reliably filled the position on the road. However, despite the extended absence, Korn has never officially stated that Fieldy is permanently out of the group.
While the bassist admitted during a February 2025 podcast interview that he hadn’t spoken to his Korn bandmates since 2019, recent events have sparked hopes of a reconciliation. Earlier this year, he was photographed hanging out with current Korn drummer Ray Luzier at the NAMM trade show in Anaheim, leading fans to speculate that the lines of communication have reopened and a future return may be possible.
El regreso de Fieldy a Korn es uno de los sueños que tienen los fans de la banda, y hoy esos fans tienen más esperanzas que antes.
