Fear Factory played “Roboticist” live for the first time in Poznań, alongside two long-unplayed deep cuts.
Fear Factory opened the “Cybernetic Domination” tour at Tama in Poznań on Saturday and used the night to put “Roboticist” on stage for the first time, hours after the single went up.
They opened with it. Fan footage of the performance is circulating, and the set that followed went considerably further into the back catalogue than recent tours have. You can watch the footage down below.

“No One” is the notable one. It comes from Digimortal, the 2001 album that turned out to be the last before Fear Factory broke up in March 2002. It has not been played since that touring cycle, a gap of a quarter of a century. “Acres Of Skin“, from the same record, makes its first appearance on this tour.
“Arise Above Oppression” goes back further still, to the 1992 debut Soul Of A New Machine, and had not been played since 2005.
There is one other song in there worth noting. “Archetype” was written by former singer Burton C. Bell about Dino Cazares‘ dismissal from the band in 2002. Cazares rejoined in 2009 and has played it live ever since.
“Roboticist” came out on Friday through Nuclear Blast, the first recorded material by the current lineup of Cazares, Milo Silvestro, drummer Pete Webber and bassist Tony Campos. Damien Rainaud produced, engineered, mixed and mastered it, with a video from director Vincente Cordero and producer Arion Csihar.
Cazares framed it as a starting point rather than a one-off.
“The future isn’t coming; it’s already here,” he said. “‘Roboticist‘ is the next evolution of Fear Factory. Man, Machine and the war for what comes next. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the beginning of a new era of Fear Factory.”
“Cybernetic Domination” runs across Europe and the UK until 10 October, finishing at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London, with Crystal Lake, Hate and The Nocturnal Affair in support. North American dates follow in October and November.
