Turnstile fans have taken their excitement for the band’s new album, Never Enough, to an unexpected venue: movie theaters. Following a one-night-only companion film screening for the album, reports and fan-filmed videos have surfaced showing dedicated attendees initiating mosh pits within the cinema halls, demonstrating an unparalleled level of enthusiasm for the Baltimore hardcore pioneers’ latest work.
This energetic fan response coincides with the release of Never Enough, the band’s highly anticipated fourth studio album, which dropped today, June 6, via Roadrunner Records. The record, a follow-up to their breakthrough 2021 album Glow On, has already garnered significant critical acclaim. Metal Hammer journalist Stephen Hill lauded the album, predicting a monumental impact: “Turnstile could be sitting on a landmark record, the likes of which this genre has never seen: hardcore’s answer to Nirvana’s Nevermind… Never Enough is not just a brilliant album, it’s that rarest of things: an album that feels like it’s going to move the needle and reshape both the perceptions and the ceiling of a genre.”
In the lead-up to the album’s release, Turnstile has been highly active, including a national television appearance where they performed new material. They showcased “I Care” and “Dull” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, marking their second time on the iconic NBC program after previously playing “Blackout” in 2022. The band also celebrated the album’s launch with a special release show in Brooklyn, featuring a guest appearance from Paramore‘s Hayley Williams.
The Never Enough companion film offered a unique viewing experience, and Turnstile has since shared official footage, including interviews with fans and their reactions to the movie, alongside the viral fan-filmed mosh pit clips.
Never Enough represents a significant shift for Turnstile, being their first album without founding guitarist Brady Ebert, who departed in 2022. It also marks the official inclusion of guitarist Meg Mills, who began touring with the band in 2023.
Frontman Brendan Yates recently reflected on the band’s longevity and unity in an interview with The Independent. “The fact that the band can exist for this long and everyone still deeply loves each other – it feels like a miracle sometimes,” he stated.
