A devastating incident occurred during Oasis’ long-awaited reunion concert at Wembley Stadium on Saturday (August 2) night, as a man in his 40s died after a fall during the event.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 22:19 BST after the man was discovered with injuries consistent with a fall. Despite immediate efforts by medics, police, and the London Ambulance Service, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Oasis released a brief statement following the tragedy: “We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.”
The concert was part of the band’s sold-out Oasis “Live ’25” reunion tour, which marks the first time Noel and Liam Gallagher have shared the stage in nearly 16 years. Saturday’s show was one of seven massive gigs at Wembley, with a crowd of up to 90,000 in attendance.
Wembley Stadium also issued a statement, confirming that the man’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers. “Despite their efforts, the fan very sadly died. Our thoughts go out to his family,” the statement read.
Authorities believe a number of people may have witnessed the fall or captured it on video without realizing it. The Metropolitan Police are asking anyone with footage or information to come forward by calling 101.
Despite the somber news, the band’s Sunday night concert is set to go ahead as scheduled. Additional shows at Wembley are planned for 27 and 28 September.
