Eyehategod close their US year with a 13-date October run alongside BL’AST!, Luicidal and Evil Army, with Cavity on three dates.
Three of the four bands on this bill are running lineups that would have looked unlikely a few years ago. That is more or less the point.
Eyehategod have confirmed thirteen October shows across the American Midwest and South, opening October 7 at Cobra in Nashville and finishing October 19 at Bad Astronaut in Houston. BL’AST!, Luicidal and Evil Army are on the whole run, with Florida sludge outfit Cavity joining for the Chicago, Indianapolis and Hamtramck dates.
The New Orleans band put it their own way: “Coming in October…For our final US tour of the year we’re bringing a cast of legendary miscreants along with us to destroy your world!!! Eyehategod along with Bl’ast now fronted by Nick Oliveri aka Rex Everything), Luicidal (featuring original members of Suicidal Tendencies), and Memphis annihilators Evil Army, and a few shows with Florida’s finest, Cavity!”
BL’AST! are the wrinkle worth pausing on. Nick Oliveri is not a new recruit. the former Kyuss and Queens Of The Stone Age bassist has played bass in the Santa Cruz hardcore band since their 2013 return, alongside founding guitarist Mike Neider. What changed this April was that founding vocalist Clifford Dinsmore stepped away and Oliveri moved to the microphone.
Rex Everything is the alias Oliveri has used since his Dwarves days and still uses with Mondo Generator.
Luicidal were put together in Venice, California in 2012 by bassist Louiche Mayorga, who played on Suicidal Tendencies‘ first two records, with fellow former member R.J. Herrera. Evil Army are a Memphis thrash band led by Rob Evil.
Eyehategod played mainland Europe in June and July, have September dates at home, and head back to the UK and Europe in November with Rwake and Intercourse.
Eyehategod formed in New Orleans in 1988 and now consist of vocalist Mike Williams, guitarist Jimmy Bower, bassist Gary Mader and drummer Aaron Hill.
