Exhorder close out their “Unforeseen Circumstances Tour” with a 19-date fall run, with Intoxicated, No/Más, Phantom and Parabellum supporting.
When Exhorder announced the winter leg of their “Unforeseen Circumstances Tour” back in December, vocalist Kyle Thomas told fans it was only the beginning of what the band had planned for 2026. That promise now has an end point.
The New Orleans groove and thrash veterans have booked a 19-date fall run that opens September 25 in Dunbar, West Virginia and closes October 18 in Evansville, Indiana. It is their last tour of the year and the third leg of a campaign that has already taken them across the country twice.
Four bands split the support slots rather than one act carrying the whole run. Intoxicated join from the second date onward, No/Más come aboard in St. Louis, Phantom climb on in Tulsa, and Parabellum appear for the Los Angeles show only.
The tour name is a joke at the industry’s expense. Thomas explained the thinking to Defenders Of The Faith in January, after 2025 saw two separate runs the band was booked on collapse.
“I don’t know. Let’s just say we’ve been a part of more than one tour that has been cancelled due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’, so it’s an inside joke for us at this point. Any time we see ‘unforeseen circumstances anywhere’, we get a little chuckle out of it. We figured we would complete a tour due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’ instead.”
The winter leg ran from January 29 in Lafayette, Louisiana to February 22 in Hobart, Indiana, with Luicidal, Ringworm, Phobia and Slowhole filling out the bill on selected nights. A spring leg followed in April with Skinlab in tow.

Exhorder formed in New Orleans in 1985 and built a reputation on syncopated, chugging riff work that shaped what became known as the Louisiana sound. Their 1990 debut Slaughter In The Vatican landed on Roadrunner Records and is widely cited as a template for the groove-driven direction Pantera took on Cowboys From Hell. A lineup shift pushed them toward more technical territory on 1992’s The Law, after which the band went through a long series of breakups and reunions.
Thomas eventually brought Exhorder back for scattered shows, and those gigs led Nuclear Blast to sign them in 2018. Mourn The Southern Skies followed in 2019, ending a 27-year recording gap, and the self-produced Defectum Omnium arrived in March 2024.
On the winter dates, Thomas said the setlist would pull from every record in the catalogue: “As always, we will be performing a little something from all four albums, so come on out and say hello! You know by now we don’t bite – that costs extra! We are excited to hit some markets that we have not yet performed in, so let’s have a great time together!”
