Former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson has announced he will close out his year with a newly scheduled European leg of his “Bass Warrior Tour.” The run is set to begin in late November 2025 and will feature direct support from Screaming Mad Dee Calhoun, with Wardogs also joining the bill for the Italian date on December 4.

Ellefson stated he is looking forward to bringing the career-spanning show to more cities.

“It’s been a super fun and productive year and even more so to be able to close out the calendar one last time with my ‘Bass Warrior‘ shows across Europe,” Ellefson said. “I’m excited to be taking this show into new cities as we celebrate each night with songs from across my career and more!”

When the “Bass Warrior Tour” was initially announced, Ellefson described the show’s concept as a musical autobiography. “I’ve approached my career as that of a musical warrior, always accompanied by my bass guitar,” he said in a statement. “I eagerly anticipate bringing these songs back to the stage, while sharing introspective and entertaining anecdotes about their creation. It’s been a wild ride of low notes and high stakes!”

The setlists will feature Megadeth hits, cuts from his solo material, and other songs that have inspired his four-decade career.

Joining Ellefson for the tour is his longtime friend and collaborator, Italian guitarist Andy Martongelli, who serves as musical director and has previously toured with Ellefson for his “Basstory” shows and projects like Ellefson-Soto and Altitudes & Attitude.

Ellefson was a co-founder of Megadeth in 1983, remaining with the band until 2002. He later rejoined the group in 2010 and played with them until his dismissal in 2021.

  • Dec. 03 – Bluesiana – Velden, Austria
