Dream Theater Are Not Coming To Europe In 2026, Promise To Return In 2027 Or 2028

Dream Theater have announced the “hard decision” to cancel their 2026 European and UK tour, citing the need for rest after years on the road.

In a frank and direct message to their European and UK fanbase, progressive metal titans Dream Theater have announced the “hard decision” to cancel their previously promised 2026 tour of the region. Citing four consecutive years of extensive European touring, the band explained their need to “skip a return” next year but promised to be back in 2027 or 2028.

The announcement was made on Thursday, October 9, via the band’s social media. The message acknowledged their previous promise to bring their new Parasomnia stage show to Europe but explained that plans had to change.

The band’s full statement reads:

“We know we promised we’d be back in 2026 with our full Parasomnia show, but sadly sometimes plans change… after much discussion, after 2 European legs on our 40th Anniversary Tour in 2024 and 2025 (as well as EU tours the previous two years in 2022 & 2023 as well), we’ve made the hard decision to skip a return to EU/UK in 2026.”

“We are currently on the final 3 weeks of our US Parasomnia/ACOS Tour, so there’s still time to come on over to the States to catch this show if you are so inclined… it really is an amazing show! And if we can’t bring it over to you, we at least wanted to give the heads up so you’d have the option of coming to us to catch it.”

“We look forward to returning to EU/UK when we begin our next tour cycle in either 2027 or 2028!”

While the European leg is off, the band is still set for a major international run in early 2026, with a full slate of dates scheduled for Asia and Australia. For North American fans, the current “Parasomnia/ACOS” tour is entering its final three weeks, concluding on October 25 in Uniondale, New York.
