Disturbed’s David Draiman Proposes To His Girlfriend On Stage At Sacramento Show (Video)

Disturbed frontman David Draiman created an unforgettable moment for his girlfriend, Sarah Uli, and fans alike when he proposed to her live on stage during the band’s concert in Sacramento, California, on Friday night, May 9, 2025. The emotional proposal took place at the Golden 1 Center, amidst the band’s ongoing “The Sickness 25th Anniversary Tour.”

Just before the second-to-last song of their set, the iconic track “The Light,” Draiman brought Uli out onto the stage. In a heartfelt address to her, with the crowd looking on, he said, “Sarah, my love, you have made my life so much better. You are the light in the darkness for me. I love you more than anything I have ever loved in this world, and it would be the absolute pinnacle of my life and my existence…”

He then reached into his pocket, produced a ring box, and got down on one knee, continuing, “Sarah Uli, will you marry me?” Uli quickly nodded yes, and Draiman placed the ring on her finger before joyfully announcing to the cheering audience, “In case you didn’t hear, she said ‘yes’.” He then lovingly directed his new fiancée to join her family off-stage.

This happy occasion marks a significant personal milestone for Draiman, who went public with his relationship with Sarah Uli in January 2024. This followed the finalization of his divorce from his wife of 11 years, Lena Draiman, in April 2023. Draiman has previously spoken about how music serves as a vital form of therapy for him, especially during challenging personal times. In a past interview with Kyle Meredith, he shared, “I need this, and I need the music — creating it, performing it, living it — right now more than I ever have,” referencing his divorce and the loss of his beloved dog. He added, “There’s gonna be plenty of inspiration for the next body of work. Battling depression, battling all the demons that normally come along with it.”

The proposal adds an extra layer of personal significance to Disturbed‘s current “The Sickness 25th Anniversary Tour,” which celebrates their seminal debut album that launched the band into global stardom. The U.S. leg of the tour kicked off on February 25, 2025.
