Disturbed fans hoping to catch the band live this year will have very limited chances. Guitarist Dan Donegan has confirmed that the multi-platinum metal heavyweights will perform only two concerts in all of 2026, as the group takes extended time off and figures out its plans for 2027.
Speaking during a recent Instagram Live, Donegan laid out exactly how light the band’s schedule is this year, explaining that they’re still recovering from a heavy 2025.
“[We have a] couple of shows coming up, as you may know. Just two shows, that’s all we’re doing this whole year. Obviously, last year was the big 25th-anniversary tour [celebrating 25 years of Disturbed‘s debut album, 2000’s The Sickness]. And we were in Europe. We finished up in Europe last fall. So we’ve been off this whole time. Everybody’s taking some down time, some family time, some personal things in our lives, and finding our own ways to stay busy. But [we’re playing] two shows this year. That’s it. We have July 17th coming up in Mansfield, Ohio at the Inkcarceration festival. We headline that Friday night. For those of you that are familiar with the movie ‘Shawshank Redemption‘, it is held at that prison. So just outside the prison they’ve set up a few stages. Massive lineup all weekend long. We’re just headlining Friday night. You got Limp Bizkit headlining one of the nights, and I think Bad Omens the other one. But massive lineup with many great bands. And then a week later we come down to Hollywood, Florida to play the Hard Rock Casino down there. We haven’t been there in probably 20-something years. So we decided to pick up a show down there and do a show on the 25th of July. So we got a lot of friends that are actually gonna do a couple road trips. They’re gonna do the Ohio show and the Florida show. So if you guys are looking to check out either one of those, it’s the only two we have this year,” he said (as transcribed by Blabbermouth).
As for what comes after this short burst of activity, Donegan said the band has been talking things over behind the scenes but isn’t ready to commit to anything publicly just yet.
“So nothing to announce for ’27 just yet. We have our talks internally with management and amongst the band, but nothing that I could put out just yet. We’re still trying to get together a game plan and see where everyone’s heads are at, where we are with material, where we are with future touring. So just one step at a time. We’re just gonna bang out these two shows.”
Despite the deliberate break, Donegan made it clear he’s itching to get back in front of a crowd after so many months away.
“I definitely miss it,” he said about performing live. “It’s been long enough. I think Scotland was our last show we did in late October last year. So definitely going through withdrawals. So [I’m] looking forward to those two [shows].”
The two dates, the Inkcarceration festival at the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield on July 17, where Disturbed headline the opening night, and Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida on July 25, stand as the band’s only scheduled appearances of the year.
Late last year, frontman David Draiman publicly stated that the group would be stepping away from the spotlight indefinitely. His comments arrived right after the band finished up their massive 25th-anniversary tour celebrating their debut album, The Sickness, on October 28.
Reflecting on that milestone trek, the singer posted a heartfelt message explaining the band’s need to rest.
“Headed home!!! Thanks so much to EVERYONE that made #TheSickness25 a tour to truly remember! Crew, Management, Agent, Promoters, and ESPECIALLY my brothers in Disturbed. Not sure when we will be headed back out. We all need a nice long break. Hope to see you when we do.”
In a separate update, he touched on the personal sacrifices of life on the road and his desire to finally unwind.
“Feeling high school high after not burning (except Amsterdam… that doesn’t count) for the last three months in preparation for #TheSickness25. Reflecting on the beautiful madness of it all. Looking forward to being with family and friends. Taking a nice long break.”
