Deicide Jadran Gonzalez Debut 2025

Just three days after his recruitment was announced, Exmortus guitarist Jadran “Conan” Gonzalez has successfully completed his trial by fire, making his powerful live debut with the legendary death metal band Deicide on the opening night of their Latin American tour. Fan-filmed footage of the new lineup in action has already surfaced online.

The high-pressure debut took place on Friday, September 19, at Tork N’ Roll in Curitiba, Brazil, the first stop on the band’s massive co-headlining tour with Polish extreme metal titans Behemoth. The performance is the first public glimpse of the band’s latest incarnation, showcasing the integration of the acclaimed guitarist into their blasphemous assault.

When his role as the new guitarist was first announced earlier this week, Gonzalez expressed his excitement for the challenge ahead.

“I’m thrilled and honored to jam amongst such legends as Glen [Benton, bass/vocals] and Steve [Asheim, drums] and to hang with the rest of the team,” he said in a statement. “I thank them for having me on board. I’m looking forward to unleashing hell in Latin America on this tour.”

Gonzalez steps into the formidable slot previously held by 15-year veteran Kevin Quirion, who amicably announced his retirement from touring in April to spend more time with his family. Quirion‘s final recorded work with the band was their 2024 album, Banished By Sin, which the current tour is in support of.
