Deftones Release New Album ‘Private Music’, North American Tour Kicks Off Today

Following an extensive build-up, Deftones have officially released their tenth studio album, private music, on August 22. The album is the band’s first full-length project since 2020’s Ohms and was preceded by two singles, “my mind ms a mountain” and “milk of the madonna.”

The new record was partially recorded and produced in Malibu and Joshua Tree, California. Its release comes after the band hosted a series of private listening parties in cities around the world, including Los Angeles, London, and their hometown of Sacramento. The album’s announcement, made six weeks ago, was accompanied by its striking cover art, which features an albino snake on a bright green background.

The 11-track project features a mix of new and previously released material. You can listen to the album down below.

Ohms, the band’s ninth album, debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, making it their sixth top 10 hit on the chart. The band will support the new album with a North American tour, which kicks off on the same day as the album’s release. The tour will continue with a string of Canadian dates, starting with a performance in Vancouver.
