In a last-minute change to the Glastonbury 2025 lineup, Deftones have been forced to cancel their scheduled performance on the Other Stage this Saturday, June 28th, due to an illness within the band. Taking their place at short notice is acclaimed grime artist Skepta, who is set to perform at 9 PM BST.

Glastonbury Festival officially announced the change via social media, stating that Deftones were “forced to cancel tonight’s 8.30pm Other Stage performance due to illness in the band.” In a testament to his readiness, Skepta issued a statement through the festival, declaring, “Let’s go!!! No crew, no production but am ready to shut Glastonbury down. Victory lap time. Pre-Big Smoke 2025!”

Deftones expressed their deep disappointment on their Instagram story, conveying their regret at missing the highly anticipated festival appearance. “In an unfortunate development, an illness in the band is going to prevent us from playing Glastonbury tonight,” the band wrote in an Instagram story.

Despite the Glastonbury cancellation, Deftones reassured fans that their upcoming headline show in London’s Crystal Palace Park on Sunday, June 29th, is still planned to proceed. “We really hope to return to Glastonbury soon, and as it stands, we plan on seeing you tomorrow at Crystal Palace,” their statement concluded.

Deftones full statement: “In an unfortunate development, an illness in the band is going to prevent us from playing Glastonbury tonight. We’re devastated to be missing out on something we’ve been looking forward to for months, but sometimes circumstances out of our control interfere with things we want to do the most. We really hope to return to Glastonbury soon, and as it stands, we plan on seeing you tomorrow at Crystal Palace.”

Deftones is in the midst of a busy 2025, with numerous European festival dates and a substantial North American tour on the horizon. Following their London appearance, the band is set to play at Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Rock Werchter in Belgium, and Main Square Festival in France, among other European stops in early July. Their North American leg will commence in Vancouver, BC, in late August, extending through September with shows across major US and Canadian cities before concluding with festival appearances like Aftershock and Corona Capital later in the fall.
