The Bay Area thrash band return to San Francisco for one night in December, with Haunt and The Hunt opening.
Death Angel have booked the eleventh edition of their Christmas show for December 18 at The Fillmore in San Francisco.

The show has become a fixture of the San Francisco calendar, and it has moved around to get there. Guitarist Ted Aguilar has said the band originally held it at Slim’s before shifting to the Great American Music Hall and later to The Fillmore.
The idea came from somewhere unexpected for a thrash band. The shows were based on the Christmas residencies The Beatles used to play in Liverpool, which is why a Beatles cover has become part of the encore each year. The band also make a habit of closing in Santa hats and running through Spinal Tap‘s “Christmas With The Devil” with Santa and two helpers brought on for backing vocals.
Last year’s tenth edition ran across two nights, December 18 and 19, and was built around Act III, which the band played from beginning to end to mark its 35th anniversary. Those shows closed out their first headline tour of the United States since 2019.
Death Angel formed in Concord, California in 1982 and were among the youngest bands in the first wave of Bay Area thrash. The current lineup is Mark Osegueda on vocals, Rob Cavestany and Ted Aguilar on guitars, Damien Sisson on bass and Will Carroll on drums.
Their most recent release is the single “Cult Of The Used“, issued in late 2025 ahead of that American run, with an animated video by Tamara Llenas of Aimed and Framed.
Earlier in July, Death Angel announced an extensive new European tour to celebrate the 35th anniversary of their landmark studio album, Act III.
Joining them on the road for the duration of the tour will be their fellow San Francisco Bay Area thrash pioneers Vio-Lence.
Originally unleashed upon the world in 1990, Act III stands as one of the most defining records in Death Angel‘s extensive catalog. The masterpiece features beloved fan-favorite tracks such as “Seemingly Endless Time“, “Discontinued“, and “A Room With A View“. Widely considered a cornerstone release of the legendary Bay Area thrash movement, the album highlighted the group’s evolving songwriting chops and growing melodic sensibilities while completely maintaining their signature fierce aggression.
