Former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson recently brought his unique “Basstory: Performance, Stories & Legacy” tour to Latin America, giving fans an up-close look at his legendary career. A major highlight of this run took place on February 14, when the band delivered a standout performance at Uniclub in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
For the Valentine’s Day show, Ellefson was backed by a heavy-hitting lineup featuring vocalist Andrew Freeman (of Last In Line), guitarists Andy Martongelli and Emanuel López, and drummer Adrián Esposito. Fan-filmed footage from the Uniclub gig has already surfaced online courtesy of the “Walter Morgan” YouTube channel, capturing the raw energy of the night.
The global “Basstory” tour is designed to be much more than a standard rock show. It blends live music with intimate storytelling, allowing Ellefson to share the personal history and behind-the-scenes moments that shaped his time on stage. Speaking about the driving concept behind the shows, the bassist explained:
“‘Basstory‘ lets me connect with fans on a deeper level. You get the riffs, but you also get the stories behind them — plus a badass live performance of fan favorites by talented musicians!”
Following the successful Latin American dates, Ellefson is now gearing up to take his separate “Bass Warrior” tour across Europe this coming March. That upcoming trek will feature his solo band performing a mix of cuts from his 40-year catalog, highlighted by a full-album playthrough of the classic Megadeth record Countdown To Extinction. Direct support for the European run will be provided by Mado.
