The dynamic duo of David Ellefson, formerly of Megadeth, and celebrated vocalist Jeff Scott Soto are set to deliver their second album, Unbreakable, on August 15. This new collection of music will be released through Rat Pak Records.

The Ellefson-Soto project, as it’s known, features a solid core lineup with Italian guitarist Andy Martongelli and drummer Paolo Caridi. The upcoming album includes 11 studio tracks and boasts appearances from special guest vocalists: Tim “Ripper” Owens (KK’s Priest, ex-Judas Priest, Iced Earth) and Laura Guldemond, the frontwoman of Burning Witches.

Recorded at Rogue Studios in Wembley, U.K., with Alessio Garavello as the engineer, Unbreakable was produced by Chris Collier, known for his work with Mick Mars, Korn, and Flat Black. The album is described as a powerful sonic experience, filled with memorable guitar riffs, rich melodic vocals, and insightful lyrics. It skillfully blends the duo’s classic metal foundations with the raw energy of modern rock.

Ellefson commented on the depth of their latest work, stating: “This album digs even deeper. It’s heavier, more personal, and shaped by everything we’ve experienced on and off the stage.”

Soto added his perspective, saying, “The energy we poured into this one — it’s the sound of two lifetimes colliding in riffs, rage, and redemption.”

Ellefson further expressed his satisfaction with the collaborative spirit within the band. “One of the things I like most is I feel like you can hear a real sense of brotherhood on our records, that we’re really in the creative process together as a band,” he noted. He emphasized the consistency of their sound while allowing for exploration: “The consistency of our sound has remained intact while allowing us to further build upon each other’s strengths from our debut album. It’s an honest, organic approach that blends well and lets us explore new sounds and musical paths. At the end of the day, I don’t think there is anything that an artist desires more than that!”

Unbreakable will be available on all major streaming platforms. Limited edition autographed vinyl, CD, and cassette bundles will be offered exclusively through Rat Pak Records.
