David Draiman Called ‘Psychotic’ By Actor John Cusack, Fires Back: ‘You Want Psychotic? Look In The Mirror’

Disturbed frontman David Draiman has engaged in a heated public exchange with actor John Cusack, after Cusack labeled the singer’s past actions as “psychotic.” The feud is the latest flashpoint in the ongoing controversy surrounding Draiman‘s outspoken support for the Israeli military, a stance that recently led to the cancellation of a Disturbed concert in Belgium over security fears.

The new conflict began when an X (formerly Twitter) user protested Disturbed‘s upcoming concert in Dublin, Ireland, by posting the 2024 photo of Draiman signing an IDF artillery shell.

The user wrote:

“If there was someone s**t in the head tonight in Cork City and my signature was found on the bullet, would you give me a gig @mcd_productions???? Ye will forever be a disgrace to this country if ye go ahead with this David Drainman gig next Wednesday in Dublin.”

On October 20, the actor John Cusack reshared that post, adding his own blunt commentary:

“Anyone who signs a bomb is pyycotic”

The comment prompted a direct and fiery response from Draiman on Tuesday, October 21.

“Hello @johncusack, my old friend,” Draiman wrote. “It isn’t psychotic to defend oneself from a g**ocidal death cult, hell bent on sla**htering you. What’s psychotic, is you defending that g**ocidal, Jew hating death cult, the way you have for years. You want psychotic? Look in the mirror.”

This social media battle comes just one week after Draiman‘s political stance had significant real-world consequences. The band’s planned October 15 show in Brussels, Belgium, was canceled by the local mayor following a police risk assessment. The decision was made due to security concerns over potential protests related to Draiman‘s signing of the artillery shell, a photo he has continued to defend.

Draiman and Disturbed are currently on their 25th-anniversary tour for The Sickness. The Dublin show that sparked the initial X post is scheduled to proceed tonight.
