Venamoris, the “darkly romantic” musical duo featuring legendary drummer Dave Lombardo and his wife, vocalist/songwriter Paula Lombardo, have returned with a new single, “Dreaming Of You,” continuing what has become an annual holiday tradition for the couple.
The new track, which follows their 2025 Ipecac Recordings debut album, is described by Paula Lombardo as a seasonal, ethereal track about loss and longing.
“What began as a one-time spark has become an annual ritual,” Paula said. “‘Dreaming Of You‘ drifts in as our fourth unexpected holiday song — a wintry dreamscape about longing, connection, and the ghosts that live inside a melody.”
This new single is the latest release in a prolific period for Venamoris. The married couple released their first full-length, Drown In Emotion, in 2023, followed by 2025’s To Cross Or To Burn. That album, which Ghost Cult praised for capturing “the spirit of… noir classic ‘Blue Velvet‘,” included a cover of the Scorpions track “Animal Magnetism” featuring Slayer and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt.
The duo combines Paula Lombardo‘s dynamic vocals, piano, and synthesizer work with Dave Lombardo‘s iconic percussion. Paula began her career as a backing singer for Wayne Newton before moving to Nashville to pursue songwriting.
Dave Lombardo, known for his genre-defining work with Slayer, remains one of music’s busiest drummers, performing with Fantômas, Testament, Mr. Bungle, and Misfits, in addition to releasing his solo percussion album, Rites Of Percussion, in 2023.
