Canadian technical death metal pioneers Cryptopsy have been announced as the headlining act for the 2026 edition of the “Decibel Magazine Tour“. The trek, which marks the 13th installment of the publication’s annual roadshow, will see the band performing a career-spanning set that highlights both their recent output and their most influential historical work.

Joining Cryptopsy for the 21-date run will be a support lineup featuring Necrot, Fulci, and Blood Monolith. The tour is scheduled to commence on April 30 in Worcester, Massachusetts, and will conclude on May 28 in the band’s home province of Quebec.

The 2026 tour will serve as a dual celebration for the headliners. Cryptopsy will be supporting their latest studio album, An Insatiable Violence, which garnered significant critical acclaim upon its release late last year. Simultaneously, the band will commemorate the 30th anniversary of their seminal 1996 release, None So Vile, an album widely regarded as a landmark in the brutal death metal genre and an inductee into the Decibel Hall of Fame.

Albert Mudrian, the editor-in-chief of Decibel, issued a statement explaining the decision to center this year’s tour around the veteran Canadian act.

“Between the strength of the material on their latest release, An Insatiable Violence, and the anniversary celebration of their landmark None So Vile, 2026 is clearly the year of peak Cryptopsy,” Mudrian said. “We couldn’t be more honored to bring the band’s paramount present and potent past together to headline this year’s ‘Decibel Magazine Tour‘.”

Cryptopsy vocalist Matt McGachy echoed these sentiments, noting the significance of revisiting the None So Vile material alongside the new tracks.

“We are honored to headline the 13th expedition of ‘The Decibel Magazine Tour‘,” McGachy stated. “Headlining ‘The Decibel Tour‘ while celebrating the 30th anniversary of None So Vile is surreal for us. That record changed everything, and getting to rip through our favorite songs from it every night — alongside a bunch of newer Cryptopsy tracks from An Insatiable Violence — feels like honoring where we came from while showing exactly where we are now. These shows alongside our friends in Necrot, Fulci and Blood Monolith are going to be violent, cathartic and unforgettable”.
