Crowbar are officially preparing to capture their crushing live energy for a brand-new live album. Capitalizing on a massive recent surge in popularity, frontman and guitarist Kirk Windstein took to social media on May 21 to announce that the band will be hosting a special, free performance at the Southport Music Hall in their hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 17. The entire concert will be professionally filmed and recorded for a future official release.

The announcement arrives at a fascinating point in the band’s extensive history. Nearly four decades into their uncompromising career, Crowbar is experiencing a massive, unexpected resurgence in relevance and popularity. The veteran outfit has recently caught the attention of a brand-new demographic, driven by a wave of viral interest across social media platforms.

Fueled heavily by the online bodybuilding community adopting their heavy, slow-grinding riffs as workout anthems, along with a series of popular internet memes, the band’s digital streaming numbers have skyrocketed. This widespread viral attention pushed the legendary New Orleans group past the impressive milestone of one million monthly listeners on Spotify alone this past February.

Now, as a thank you to their dedicated local fanbase and to document this incredible new era of their career, Crowbar is inviting fans to pack the Southport Music Hall this July for an unforgettable, barrier-free hometown show.

Earlier in March, Crowbar officially unveiled 2026 European “Confess To Nothing” tour dates.
