Cradle of Filth frontman Dani Filth recently shared his thoughts on the evolution of live performances with age, asserting that his own band has become stronger while also offering a pointed critique of Mötley Crüe vocalist Vince Neil. The comments came during an interview with Sakis Fragos of Rock Hard Greece.
When asked if, at 51, he still feels the same excitement getting on stage in 2025 as he did in his 20s during the 1990s, Filth affirmed that he does. He then addressed a common claim among aging vocalists. “I know you get a lot of people saying — singers in particular — when they age they say I’m singing better than ever,” Filth stated. “And then when you hear it come out of Vince Neil’s mouth, it’s not true at all.”
In contrast, Filth believes Cradle of Filth has genuinely improved its live prowess over their extensive career. “We’re better performers now because we’ve learned how to handle life on tour through years of experience,” he explained. This sentiment aligns with recent positive reception for Cradle of Filth‘s work, which has been described as a creative high point, even incorporating elements like a full orchestra into their sound, showcasing a more polished and ambitious approach. Meanwhile, Vince Neil has faced public criticism in recent years regarding his live vocal performances and on-stage energy.
Cradle of Filth released their latest album, The Screaming of the Valkyries, in March 2025. The band recently completed the “Chaos and Carnage” tour and is currently playing a few additional U.S. dates.
