An online fundraising effort has been set up for Connie Burton, the older sibling of late Metallica bassist Cliff Burton, as she gets ready for an urgent operation described as “life-saving” in the wake of a grave medical diagnosis.
The GoFundMe page, organized by Maricela Dena, explains that Connie Burton is dealing with “severe decay in her skull” — a problem that reportedly started in her teeth before advancing into her sinuses. Physicians have cautioned that the condition could turn deadly if it keeps worsening without prompt surgery, according to the campaign.
Part of the description on the page reads: “Connie Burton is a dear friend and the only sister of Cliff Burton from Metallica. She has always been a light in the music world, sharing her story and faith with many. Recently, Connie has faced a life-threatening medical crisis: severe decay in her skull that started from her teeth and has now reached her sinuses. Doctors have warned that if the decay breaks through, it could be fatal. The surgery she needs is urgent, and she must put down a significant amount apart from what insurance will cover.”
Connie‘s journey has been filled with both challenges and miracles. Despite her circumstances, including being written out of her family’s will, she remains a born-again Christian, devoted to sharing hope and love with others. Her faith has carried her through many trials, and she continues to inspire those around her.
