The wait is over! The first trailer for Heavier Trip, the highly anticipated sequel to the Finnish metal comedy Heavy Trip, has dropped. The film follows the underground band Impaled Rektum as they continue their quest to master their unique, and utterly insane, brand of death metal. Check out the trailer below.
Doppelgänger Releasing, Music Box Films’ genre division, has acquired North American distribution rights to Heavier Trip, the sequel to the metal cult classic Heavy Trip. Charades will handle international sales.
The original film introduced the world to Impaled Rektum a Finnish band stuck in a basement for over a decade. Heavier Trip picks up a few years later with the band behind bars and facing an unexpected dilemma: a coveted slot at the Wacken Open Air festival. With their guitarist’s family on the brink of losing their home, Impaled Rektum must find a way to escape prison and save the day, all while maintaining their signature blend of extreme metal.
The world premiere of Heavier Trip will be revealed soon, with its theatrical and home entertainment release scheduled for this November.
