The “Putrefying Down Under” run moves back a full year. Tickets stay valid, refunds are available, and the Auckland show has changed venue.
Carcass have set new dates for the Australian and New Zealand tour they postponed this week, moving the run to September 2027.
The shows had been due to start on September 22 this year. They will now take place between September 7 and 17 next year, with Brujeria again joining for most of the run.
The rescheduled dates:
- Sep 07 – Magnet House, Perth, WA (with Kimura)
- Sep 09 – Lion Arts Factory, Adelaide, SA (with Anggrath)
- Sep 10 – Northcote Theatre, Melbourne, VIC (with Nembutolik)
- Sep 11 – Liberty Hall, Sydney, NSW (with Hormagaunt)
- Sep 14 – Princess Theatre, Brisbane, QLD (with Cryptivore)
- Sep 15 – The Warehouse, Townsville, QLD (with Psycroptic and Necrophage)
- Sep 17 – Galatos, Auckland, New Zealand (with Just One Fix and Soul Void)
Brujeria are not performing at the Townsville or Auckland shows. Those two dates carry additional local support instead.
The Auckland venue has also changed. The original booking was at The Studio and the rescheduled show is at Galatos.
Existing tickets remain valid for the corresponding new dates and ticket-holders need do nothing. Anyone unable to attend a date twelve months later can request a refund from their original point of purchase.
Tickets also remain on sale: through Oztix for Perth and Townsville, Moshtix for Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, Ticketmaster for Brisbane, and through the venue for Auckland.
The postponement also covered Carcass‘ planned China and India dates. No replacement dates for those have been announced.
The band said on Wednesday that drummer Dan Wilding is dealing with a family situation and cannot be away from home, and that they would not be discussing it further.
Carcass wrote:
“We’re incredibly sorry to announce that we have decided to reschedule our upcoming ‘Putrefying Down Under‘ Australia / NZ tour along with our China and India dates.”
“Our drummer Dan is facing a deeply upsetting family situation, and his priority right now is being with his family. Out of respect for everyone involved, we won’t be sharing further details, but we hope our fans will understand that this is a situation where family has to come first and he simply cannot be so far away from home for so long.”
“We know how much people have been looking forward to these shows, and postponing them is not a decision we have taken lightly. We are working on rescheduled dates and will share further information as soon as we can.”
“For our fans in India, Bangalore Open Air will still go ahead as scheduled, and we sincerely encourage everyone to attend the festival, support the other bands performing and be part of what will still be an incredible day.”
“Thank you for your patience, understanding and, most importantly, your kindness and support at what is a very difficult time for our band and family.”
“All existing tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates, further information to follow.”
“Thank you for understanding.”
“CARCASS“
For Brujeria, the delay pushes back what would have been their first Australian shows in a decade. Carcass last released an album with Torn Arteries in 2021.
Wilding joined in 2012 and has played on every Carcass release since, including their most recent album Torn Arteries in 2021. He also drums on Kai Hansen‘s solo album Born With A Hammer, due later this month.
