Buckcherry Confirms Plans For New Studio Album In 2027

Buckcherry guitarist Stevie Dacanay (also known as Stevie D.) outlined the band’s timeline for their twelfth studio album.

Buckcherry 2025

Buckcherry is already looking ahead to their next musical chapter. During a recent appearance on the “Pod Scum” podcast, hosted by “Reckless” Rexx Ruger, guitarist Stevie Dacanay (also known as Stevie D.) outlined the hard rock band’s timeline for their twelfth studio album.

The upcoming project will serve as the official follow-up to the group’s most recent release, Roar Like Thunder, which hit shelves in June 2025 via Round Hill Records in North America, Sony Music in Japan, and Earache Records for the rest of the world.

Detailing the band’s highly consistent recording and touring schedule, Stevie provided a complete update on their immediate future:

“I think if you look historically, or at least in the last 10 years, we came out with Warpaint, and then two years later, or two and a half years later, we came out with the Hellbound. And that’s our cycle — two and a half, three years [later], a new album will come out. And the touring will last a year and a half. And then the writing cycle, then recording, and then they’re setting up the album. So, it’s been that way since — we’re pretty consistent. So at the end of this year will be the end of the touring cycle for this last album. And then we’re gonna go into the studio with [songwriter and producer] Marti [Frederiksen], start writing around September, October, and then release a new record in the spring [or] summer [of 2027].”

The band’s recent studio output has established a strong collaborative formula. Much like 2023’s Vol. 10 and 2021’s Hellbound, Roar Like Thunder was recorded at Sienna Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. The sessions were led by acclaimed producer Marti Frederiksen, whose extensive resume includes work with major acts like Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Jonny Lang, and Sheryl Crow. All 10 tracks on the latest record were co-written by Buckcherry frontman Josh Todd, Stevie Dacanay, and Marti Frederiksen.

In the meantime, the band remains heavily focused on the road. Following a previously announced run of United States tour dates this May, Buckcherry recently unveiled the second leg of their summer 2026 itinerary. The new stretch of shows kicks off on June 26 in West Fargo, North Dakota, and concludes on July 25 in Pueblo, Colorado.

The summer trek features several high-profile stops, including a July 2 performance at the massive Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and an exclusive Canadian appearance on July 12 at Edmonton’s Rockin’ Thunder festival, where they will provide direct support for Creed.
