Bruce Dickinson To Record New Solo Album In 2026, Will Perform Iron Maiden’s ‘Revelations’ On Upcoming Tour

Bruce Dickinson plans to record a new solo album in 2026, signaling long-term focus as he hits North America and reclaims Maiden’s “Revelations.”

Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has outlined his ambitious solo plans for the next three years, revealing that he will enter the studio in January 2026 to record a follow-up to this year’s acclaimed album, The Mandrake Project. The announcement, a clear statement of his long-term commitment to his solo work, comes as he prepares for a North American tour where he will boldly reclaim and potentially alter the Iron Maiden classic he penned: “Revelations.”

In a new interview with Charlie Kendall’s Metalshop, Dickinson confirmed that the creative momentum from his latest solo effort is set to continue. “We’re going in the studio in January next year to record the album,” he said (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), noting he will be working with producer Brendan Duffey and the same band that recently toured Europe with him. He is targeting a 2027 release for the new record.

In the more immediate future, Dickinson is bringing “The Mandrake Project Live 2025” tour to North America later this month. He promised a career-spanning set, including deep cuts like “The Alchemist” alongside classics such as “Tears Of The Dragon.” However, the most surprising addition to the setlist will be a song from his day job: the Piece Of Mind epic, “Revelations.”

Dickinson explained that he is adding the song to his set to commemorate the 40th anniversary of his first performance at Brazil’s legendary Rock In Rio festival, a milestone he will celebrate at The Town festival in São Paulo in September. “If I’m gonna rehearse ‘Revelations’ for Brazil, oh, damn it, I might as well do it in the USA as well,” he reasoned.

He asserted his full creative ownership over the 1983 track, which he wrote by himself. “People say, ‘Hey, who wrote the guitar part to ‘Revelations‘?’ I went, ‘You know the bit where it says who wrote the song? Did you see anybody else’s name there?'” he quipped. This ownership, he declared, gives him the freedom to reinterpret the classic. “Because it’s my song, if I wanna tweak a few things and make a few little alterations that I think might maybe make it a little bit better, then, yeah, it’s my song. I’ll do what I damn well like.”

The nod to Rock In Rio also prompted him to recall his infamous 1985 performance. Frustrated with the poor sound, he hit himself in the head with his guitar. “Blood cold coming down from a head wound,” he remembered. “The manager asked me to squeeze it some more ’cause it looked great on the cameras. And that photograph became kind of legendary in Brazil.”
