Bruce Dickinson has released the video for “Change Of Heart“, filmed in São Paulo in September 2025.
Bruce Dickinson has put out a film for “Change Of Heart“, made on the same São Paulo trip that produced his “Tears Of The Dragon” video earlier this year. Both were shot in September 2025 with directors Leo Liberti and Antoine de Montremy, and both draw on the reworked versions of the songs that appear on More Balls To Picasso.
Dickinson performs in a derelict building in the centre of the city with his guitarist Philip Näslund, while a separate story plays out around him. It moves through scenes of contemporary life featuring people from a range of backgrounds, portraying a society that fails to register the suffering in front of it.
Running through the film is a child carrying a reproduction of William Blake‘s The Good And Evil Angels. The boy neither judges nor explains, and functions instead as an observer, left for the viewer to interpret.
The singer explained why he wanted a second film from the Brazilian shoot and why that particular painting is in it.
“When we shot a video for ‘Tears Of The Dragon‘ in Brazil last year, I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to also shine a light on the song ‘Change Of Heart‘. This song has always been very special to me with the wonderful new arrangement of it on the More Balls To Picasso album, its message and power feels even more enhanced. We used the William Blake painting because he devoted much of his work to the eternal tension between innocence and experience, freedom and spiritual enslavement, consciousness and alienation, and I’m very aware that my own work often deals with the same subjects. So having the young boy in the video, carrying that particular painting is a very deliberate choice. The child embodies that primal awareness, capable of seeing what adults have learned to ignore,” Dickinson said.
Blake painted The Good And Evil Angels in the mid-1790s, and the innocence and experience pairing Dickinson refers to runs through his Songs Of Innocence And Of Experience, published in 1794.
The “Tears Of The Dragon” video, released in May and since decorated on the festival circuit, came out of the same September 2025 sessions. That one was staged in a disused São Paulo brewery with a full crew, Dickinson‘s House Band Of Hell and the Almai orchestra under conductor Antonio Teoli, the same orchestra that plays on the studio re-recording. Both shoots followed his appearance at The Town festival in the city.
More Balls To Picasso arrived on 25 July 2025, a part re-recorded, remixed and remastered version of Balls To Picasso from 1994. That original was Dickinson‘s second solo album and the first he made with Roy Z, recorded with Roy Z’s band Tribe Of Gypsies and produced by Shay Baby, released during the years he spent away from Iron Maiden before returning in 1999.
The reissue runs to twelve tracks, with “Change Of Heart” at number six and two previously unreleased live-in-the-studio recordings closing it out. Dickinson has said he came to the idea while remixing his catalogue into Dolby Atmos, and credited Näslund with thickening the guitars.
Dickinson recorded his next solo album this year, with release tentatively set for early 2027 through BMG. It follows 2024’s The Mandrake Project, which he toured across North America in 2025 on his first extended solo run there in almost three decades.
