Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes Reveals 12 Songs Are Ready For New Album

Oli Sykes reveals Bring Me The Horizon shelved plans to release new *Nex Gen* tracks this summer after welcoming twins into his family.

Bring Me The Horizon 2025

Frontman Oli Sykes has revealed that Bring Me The Horizon has a wealth of unreleased songs from the Post Human: Nex Gen recording sessions, which were put on hold due to a significant personal milestone. While the band had ambitious plans to release new music throughout the summer, those were postponed after Sykes became a father to twins.

Sykes told NME that he was eager to share the new tracks with the world. He stated he had “12 songs and they’re all bangers,” and had even contacted his label and management to schedule single releases ahead of their major festival appearances. “I wanted new music out this year,” Sykes said. “I’ve got so much from the Nex Gen archive that I want the world to hear. I literally phoned my label and management and said, ‘It’s nearly here, I’ve got 12 songs and they’re all bangers. They’re so close, we’re going to get the first single out before Rock Am Ring and the second before Reading And Leeds.’”

However, he also emphasized that the band is not under pressure to constantly produce new material, acknowledging: “The music will come, but it’s just not the be-all and end-all. We’re realising that we don’t have to put another record out; we just put one out. Most bands would go away for two years, have an actual break. You don’t have to do this, but I want to and I enjoy it. If it doesn’t happen, then it doesn’t happen.”

The band has remained active despite the recording delay, having surprise-released a lo-fi remix album titled Lo-Files in July. Now, the focus shifts to their upcoming autumn tour.
