Breaking Benjamin guitarists Jasen Rauch and Keith Wallen have officially confirmed that the band’s highly anticipated seventh studio album is completely finished and ready for release.
During a recent interview with “Moshpit Passion” at the 2026 edition of the Rock am Ring festival in Nürburgring, Germany, the two musicians discussed the extensive creative process behind the long-awaited follow-up to their 2018 album, Ember.
“Well, the album’s done. There is [a title for it]. We are so close for everything coming out. We have some big announcements coming. What we can say, I guess, is that we’ve been recording pretty much full time four years now post-pandemic. Some of these songs we re-recorded three different times. We’ve had a lineup change. There was some personal stuff going on, individually, families, things in the band… And so to kind of be on the back end of it now, I think it’s just something that we’re all really proud of,” Jasen Rauch revealed.
Keith Wallen echoed the sentiment, expressing the band’s eagerness to finally share the new music with their dedicated fanbase after a lengthy developmental period.
“We’re done. It’s sinking in, ’cause we see all the comments, we see all the fans [saying], just, like, ‘When’s the new album [coming out]? When’s the new album?’ And, like, trust me, we are so ready to [put it out]. We are so excited,” Wallen added.
Regarding a timeline for the official album reveal, Rauch noted that major announcements and the release date will be shared “over the summer”, adding that the record was finalized “literally a couple weeks ago.”
“We were at another festival in America. We had one more line to record vocals on, in a room not unlike this,” Rauch explained. “We had our stuff with us, so we’re, like, ‘Do you mind if we punch this real quick?’ And so we did. And we recorded that line, and that was the last one for the record, and so that’s literally it. We just got masters back. We’re doing some different artwork tweaks. All that stuff’s happening right now.”
The upcoming record will be the group’s first full-length effort under their new global recordings agreement with BMG. The partnership marks Breaking Benjamin‘s first new label home since releasing their debut album nearly 25 years ago.
Fans have already been given two massive previews of the upcoming era. Last month, the band released their haunting latest single, “Something Wicked“. The track pushes the group into darker sonic territory, building from a simmering, introspective opening into a powerful, anthemic crescendo driven by the unmistakable and explosive vocal delivery of frontman Benjamin Burnley.
“Something Wicked” arrived on the heels of the massive October 2024 comeback single, “Awaken“. That track proved to be a dominant force, quickly rocketing to the No. 1 spot on the Rock Digital Songs charts and securing Top 20 positions across multiple Billboard lists, including Hot Hard Rock Songs, Digital Song Sales, and Alternative Songs. To date, “Awaken” has amassed well over 131 million streams globally.
Breaking Benjamin will spend June and July touring across Europe, marking their first string of overseas performances since 2017. The massive summer run features varying support from rock heavyweights Chevelle and Return To Dust.
Breaking Benjamin are also gearing up for North American trek this fall with heavy-hitting support from Chevelle and Starset, along with rising solo artist Kami Kehoe.
