Black Label Society have officially announced a free livestream event scheduled for March 27. Broadcast live via Veeps from The Sylvee in Madison, Wisconsin, the special event will feature the debut live performance of “Ozzy’s Song“. The new track was penned by frontman Zakk Wylde as a poignant tribute to his late bandmate and heavy metal icon, Ozzy Osbourne.
Following the live performance, fans will also be treated to the world premiere of the song’s official music video. The livestream strategically coincides with the release date of the band’s highly anticipated twelfth studio album, Engines Of Demolition, which arrives the exact same day via MNRK Heavy.
Tickets to watch the livestream are free and available at Veeps right now.
Serving as the official follow-up to 2021’s Doom Crew Inc., the new record is heavily defined by Zakk Wylde‘s musical homage to his longtime father figure. Fans who preorder Engines Of Demolition will receive instant downloads of the advance singles “Broken and Blind“, “Lord Humungus”, and “The Gallows“, alongside two additional unreleased tracks.
Wylde spent decades serving as the right-hand man to the Prince of Darkness. In a recent interview with NJ.com, the guitar icon reflected on the emotional weight of sharing the stage with Ozzy Osbourne for the final time during the “Back to the Beginning” farewell concert last July. Discussing his mindset during that monumental performance, he stated at the time:
“I wasn’t thinking when we were doing the show that this was the last time I’m going to be doing ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ with the boss or this is the last time I’m going to play ‘Crazy Train’ with him or anything like that. I was just going, ‘Let’s do this and let’s have a good time, like always.”
To support the release of the new album, Black Label Society is currently on an extensive North American headline tour. Zakk Sabbath is serving as the opening act on select dates, with Wylde pulling double duty.
