United Kingdom death metal veterans Benediction have unveiled a major lineup update for their upcoming autumn itinerary, bringing an undisputed pioneer of the genre into the fold. The band has officially confirmed that Kam Lee, the legendary original frontman of Massacre and often called a founding voice of the death metal movement, will handle lead vocal duties for their upcoming tour of Latin and South America.
The announcement marks the latest chapter in Benediction’s ongoing live transition following the departure of longtime vocalist Dave Ingram, who recently stepped down from full-time touring obligations due to health issues related to severe arthritis. Sharing the news via social media, Benediction described the temporary pairing as a “legends collide” moment as they prepare to visit one of their most passionate touring territories.
Kam Lee expressed his excitement regarding the collaboration, noting that his long-standing personal relationship with Dave Ingram played a crucial role in his decision to accept the temporary position.
“I am excited to be joining Benediction as vocalist for the LATAM tour. Given my long-term friendship with Dave Ingram, it was vital for me to obtain his dark blessing before stepping into this positionm,” Kam stated.
Before securing Kam Lee for the late-autumn run, Benediction utilized a variety of extreme metal vocalists to preserve their live commitments. Oscar Rilo of Dark Embrace and former Benediction frontman Dave Hunt have both stepped in to front the band during recent weeks.
“The band has been aided by notable talent, including Oscar Rilo and Dave Hunt, who have both delivered impressive live performances,” Kam added. “I’m eager to follow their lead and hope to adequately represent the band and satisfy the fans.”
The tour will span several major cultural hubs across Central and South America, giving international fans a rare opportunity to witness the Massacre icon fronting the British death metal institution.
