Polish extreme metal icons Behemoth have released a new single and music video, “In League With Satan,” featuring a guest appearance by Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir. The track appears on the band’s newly released collection, I, Scvlptor, while the accompanying video was created by acclaimed Polish production collective Grupa 13.

The collaboration arrives ahead of Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir‘s upcoming “In League With Satan” co-headlining European and UK tour, which will also feature Dark Funeral as special guests.

Nergal comments on the new single: “When we were looking for a name for our tour with Dimmu Borgir, I thought it would be great to use a timeless slogan and basically quote the gods of satanic rock’n’roll — Venom and ‘In League with Satan’ perfectly fit my vision. I honestly don’t remember what came first — the idea for the tour name or the idea of recording the song itself. What matters is that we recorded it on seven-string guitars with Shagrath from Dimmu as a guest vocalist. The song gained a massive weight and a completely new dimension. We’re planning to play it live and I think our version turned into something truly powerful.”

Released today, I, Scvlptor brings together eight previously unreleased tracks, including seven new studio recordings and one live performance. Rather than serving as a conventional studio album, the collection connects different periods of Behemoth’s history with the band’s current creative direction.

Among the highlights are newly re-recorded versions of two early Behemoth tracks: “Rise of the Blackstorm of Evil,” originally featured on The Return of the Northern Moon in 1992, and “In Thy Pandemaeternum,” from 1998’s Pandemonic Incantations. Both songs revisit the band’s early material through a modern sonic lens while retaining the spirit of the originals.

The release also sees Behemoth paying tribute to some of their influential predecessors with “In League With Satan,” originally recorded by Venom and featuring Shagrath, as well as “The Return of Darkness and Evil,” a Bathory cover featuring Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ.

I, Scvlptor is available worldwide on CD, LP, MC, and as a limited-edition box set via Massacre Records, with a digital release handled by Nuclear Blast.
