Just 24 hours after announcing the departure of longtime vocalist Noora Louhimo, Finnish metal titans Battle Beast have revealed the identity of their new lead singer. Marina La Torraca, the Brazilian vocalist known for her work with Phantom Elite and Exit Eden, has officially taken up the mantle.

The band wasted no time in ushering in their next era, sharing a brief but optimistic message with fans:

“One story ends, another begins. We’re excited to start this new chapter and introduce you to the new voice of Battle Beast, Marina.”

Originally from São Paulo, La Torraca brings a diverse and impressive résumé to the fold. Beyond fronting the modern metal outfit Phantom Elite and participating in the symphonic metal supergroup Exit Eden, she has a background in musical theatre, having studied in New York and performed in productions across German-speaking Europe. Her vocal style is noted for its range, capable of shifting from theatrical melodies to aggressive screams—a skillset perfectly suited for Battle Beast‘s dynamic sound.

La Torraca is also a multi-hyphenate talent, working as a songwriter, producer, vocal coach, and graphic designer.

In her first official statement as a member of the band, La Torraca admitted that the invitation initially seemed too good to be true.

“When I first saw an e-mail with both Battle Beast and my name in the subject line, I honestly thought it had to be a mistake,” she confessed. “But once I opened it, I couldn’t have been happier. I’m incredibly honored to be part of this new chapter and deeply grateful for the trust and support from the band.”

She also acknowledged the daunting task of stepping into the shoes of a beloved figure like Louhimo.

“Is it a little terrifying to follow in the wake of a vocal legend like Noora? You bet! Is it also very exciting? Absolutely,” La Torraca said. “Battle Beast is one of the hardest-working and most genuinely talented bands out there, and I’m proud to be here to help them keep growing and spreading joy. Buckle up — this is going to be fun.”

Battle Beast will hit the road with La Torraca in March 2026 for a run of shows across Japan and Australia.

  • March 06 – Tokyo – WWWX
  • March 07 – Osaka – Shinsaibashi Sunhall
  • March 10 – North Perth – Magnet House
  • March 11 – Adelaide – Lion Arts Factory
  • March 13 – Melbourne – Max Watts Melbourne
  • March 14 – Sydney – Manning Bar
  • March 15 – Brisbane – Crowbar

The lineup change follows Noora Louhimo‘s exit on December 15, which she described as a move to “fly with [her] own wings” and focus on solo endeavors after 13 years with the group.
