British deathcore outfit Ingested has parted ways with bassist Thomas O’Malley. The musician announced his exit via social media on May 30, confirming his decision to step down and seek out new musical endeavors.

In his official statement, O’Malley shared:

“I’ve decided to step away from Ingested. I’m grateful for my time in the band and for the experiences over the years. I’ve had a great time playing shows, touring, and being part of the journey, and I wish the guys the absolute best for the future and continued success with the new record and beyond.”

“I’m now focusing on new musical opportunities and I’m available for touring, recording, and session work as a bassist and guitarist. If anyone needs a player, feel free to get in touch.”

O’Malley initially linked up with Ingested as a touring member in 2022 before securing a permanent position in 2025.

His departure follows a turbulent period for the band this year. In February, Ingested dismissed former frontman Josh Davies amidst disturbing allegations, which Davies publicly denied.

The band shared a short statement at the time:

“Effective immediately, Josh Davies is no longer a member of Ingested. Adam Mercer will be handling vocal duties on the upcoming Bodysnatcher tour.”

In the aftermath, guitarists and vocalists Sean Hynes and Andrew Virrueta took over mic duties to completely re-record the vocal tracks for the band’s latest album, Denigration, prior to its official release on May 8.

Earlier in February, the group has also shared a new music video for the track “Merciless Reflection,” featuring Damonteal Harris of Peeling Flesh.

Denigration additionally includes guest appearances from Skyler Conder of Cell / VarialsJohn Gallagher of Dying Fetus, and Kyle Medina of Bodysnatcher.

Production on the upcoming album was handled by Nico Beninato at The Arch Studios.
