Just days after announcing their upcoming fall United States tour alongside Skillet and Escape The Fate, Bad Wolves have officially been removed from the bill.
The extensive autumn trek was heavily promoted as the official live debut for Sara “Killboy” Skinner, who recently stepped in as the new lead vocalist for Bad Wolves. However, the group has confirmed their departure from the tour following intense online backlash from a segment of the Skillet fanbase.
On August 25, Killboy posted a video statement addressing the sudden lineup change. In the video, the frontwoman explained that immediately after Skillet announced the tour, their fans conducted extensive research into her personal background and raised objections over her online presence.
Addressing the controversy directly, Killboy stated (as transcribed by theprp):
“I have gathered you all here today to inform you that Bad Wolves will no longer be joining Skillet on their upcoming tour. Now, Skillet‘s camp did not want me to say anything, but apparently a statement has to be made. And I’m not someone who’s ever hidden who the f**k I am, so let’s not leave you to speculate, Okay?”
“Here’s the the truth. Skillet announced us on their tour, and their fans had a field day doing very extensive research that their booking agents and management did not do. Upon their findings, I am a trans, OnlyFans, b**ch. Now unfortunately, only one of those things is true. Have fun finding out and we will see you on the next tour.”
The situation arrives shortly after Bad Wolves were confirmed as the main support act for the fall run. The tour was intended to formally introduce the singer to audiences and mark the live premiere of the band’s latest single, “Paint It Red“.
At this time, neither Skillet nor Escape The Fate have indicated any further changes to the remaining tour dates and schedule. Bad Wolves have not yet announced alternative touring plans for the fall.
